The Eagle Nebula M16 & The Omega/Swan Nebula HST Palette

Description

A stunning duo of Nebulae lying in the Sagittarius arm of our milky way galaxy M16 The Eagle Nebula and also known as The Star Queen Nebula is a star forming region 7000 light years distant in the Constellation Serpens and M17 The Omega Nebula, also known as The Swan, Checkmark, Lobster and The Horseshoe Nebula is a HII region also approximately 7000 light years distant in the Constellation Sagittarius.

Not your typical Hubble Palette, I used data from the green filter to simulate SII in the red channel. I added RGB to the background to give natural star color.

Total Exposure 4.2 hours
